Shelter Animal Assessor

Responsibilities: Assist with the behavioral assessment of dogs/cats at the shelter and interact with shelter staff members and volunteers.

Requirements: Should have knowledge of animal behavior and be comfortable handling dogs/cats with which they have no history (preferred training/behaviorist credentials required). Will represent PRH and foster a strong working relationship with the shelter.

Time Commitment: Flexible schedule; up to 20 hrs/month

Shelter Liaison

Responsibilities: Assist with identifying animals currently at the shelter who are at risk. Provide additional information about their situation (both medical and behavioral), and work in conjunction with Shelter Assessor Team.

Requirements: Should be an active shelter volunteer in good standing and will abide by shelter requirements.

Time Commitment: Flexible schedule; up to 10 hrs/month

Home Visit Volunteer

Responsibilities: Visit potential adopters in their home environment to assess safety and suitability for prospective adoptable pets. Visits should be no more than 30 minutes and checklist will be provided.

Requirements: Reliable transportation, driver’s license and car insurance. Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Time Commitment: As needed, varies

Dog Training Specialist

Responsibilities: Work to assist with any dog behavior issues that arise. Maintain standard operating procedures for common behavior issues that occur with the rescue animals. Keep in close contact with the adoptive family to be sure recommended training is taking place and adjust program as needed until the animal is adopted.

Requirements: Must have prior behavior and training experience handling dogs.

Time Commitment: 15 hrs/month

Dog Handler

Responsibilities: Dog handlers are needed at our adoption events to manage leashed dogs, introduce dogs to potential adoptive families, walk dogs, and give lots of love and affection. This is the best opportunity for the dogs to be seen by the public and possibly find their forever home. You will be there to be the advocate for the dog. May also provide support in socialization of adopted dogs.

Requirements: Dog lover with prior experience handling dog with knowledge and ability to read dog body language. Must have a valid driver’s license to transport dogs when necessary. Will require orientation and training.

Time Commitment: 2-6 hours per month, mostly on weekends

 

 

Dog Training Resource Administrator

Responsibilities: Oversee administration of dog training offerings, including training classes and training/behavior partner referral list. Work with Adoption Program Manager to recommend appropriate trainers/behaviorists when the need arises. Suggest continuing dog behavior education opportunities for volunteers.

Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, and background in dog training.

Time Commitment: 15 hrs/month

Adopter Follow-Up Program

Responsibilities: Act as a liaison between PRH and adopters by providing continued post-adoption support. Contact adopters periodically to check on how the pet is doing in its new home.

Provide any necessary support or resources and answer any questions.

Animal Transport

Responsibilities: Transport volunteers use their personal vehicles to transport animals and/or supplies (i.e. rescue pick up, chauffeuring animals to/from medical or therapy visits, picking-up donations or helping with special event transport). Errands/pick up donations/drop off supplies. Travel is primarily in the San Jose area. Mileage reimbursement provided per PRH policy.

Requirements: Must have a reliable vehicle that is licensed and insured; the vehicle must have enough space for kenneled animals. Requires a valid driver’s license.

Time Commitment: Flexibility of schedule; 2-4 hrs/week.

Transport Coordination Manager

Responsibilities: Coordinate logistics of transport needs on behalf of the organization (i.e. rescue pick up, chauffeuring animals to/from medical or therapy visits, picking-up donations or helping with special event transport). Be the main point of contact to reach out to volunteers with transport needs.

Requirements: Ability to multitask, very organized, good at logistics, positive can do attitude!

Time Commitment: Flexibility of schedule; 2-4 hrs/week (varies)

Vet Services Manager

Responsibilities: Assist in establishing and maintaining vet partnerships to facilitate reduced costs for animal care. Partner with Finance to ensure that proper analysis of vet expenditures is completed. Work closely with the Vet Services Coordinator to ensure medical providers have the ability to respond to PRH needs.

Requirements: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of potential services and costs.

Time Commitment: 5-15 hrs/month

Vet Services Coordinator

Responsibilities: Provide support to Vet Services Manager.

Requirements: Volunteer must have access to email and phone and be able to respond during working hours. Requires knowledge of common canine and feline health issues.

Time Commitment: 5-15 hrs/month

Adoption Coordinator (Dog)

Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service and assist adopters/potential adopters with their needs. Respond to general inquiries about assistance with pets and respond to general phone/email inquiries coming into the organization; answer questions about PRH dogs, policies and general information. Assist in finalizing adoptions by uploading adoption agreements into database. Provide adopters with electronic copies of all medical records. Register microchips and provide this information with additional post adoption support resources. Update data fields in database.

Requirements: Superior customer service and responsiveness. Needs to have access to email throughout the day. Volunteers should have a solid working knowledge of PRH; its history, mission and procedures as well as solid knowledge of the current inventory.

Adoption Events Coordinator

Responsibilities: Coordinate with partners for adoption events Responsibilities also include posting adoption events on, PRH website, Facebook and notification to Community Outreach and Social Media Coordinators of events to publicize. Updates internal database (Rescuegroups.org) regarding attendance of pets at each event.

Requirements: Strong organizational and customer service skills.

Development Manager

Responsibility: Implement the annual and long-range strategy for securing gifts from a variety of sources, including foundations, corporations, individuals and events. You will play an integral role in forging new relationships, building a pipeline of new donors, individual and business sponsors and corporate partners to execute PRH’s overall fundraising strategy. Work with a team to research and write grants and oversee donor recognition.

Requirements: Prior experience in development is required. Excellent organization and communication skills.

Donor Relations Manager

Responsibilities: Primary liaison for PRH’s community of donors. Responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and expanding the relationships with donors; providing communication and service to donors, maintaining and managing donor information and engaging supporters. Also, responsible for maintaining donor database entries and issuing donor acknowledgements.

Requirements: Experience in stewarding donors with strong interpersonal communication skills and able to build and sustain relationships through individual contacts. Experience developing events; research and planning.

Time Commitment: 40 hrs/month

Vendor Relations Manager

Responsibilities: The point person for our service providers. Responsibilities include solidifying the relationship with the vendor and ensuring cross-promotion of our vendors with our customers.

Requirements: Experience in customer service and vendor relationships with strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build and sustain relationships through individual contacts; research and planning.

Volunteer Manager

Purpose: To manage all PRH Volunteers towards increasing effectiveness and productivity of intakes, rehabilitation, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: The position will oversee and implement all aspects of the volunteer program including recruitment, screening, placement, retention, appreciation, evaluation and development. Respond to all volunteer inquiries, have a general idea of the volunteer needs for the organization.

Volunteer Recruiter

Responsibilities: Bring new volunteers into the program by determining innovative recruiting. Retain reliable committed volunteers. Process inquiries and screen applicants.

Requirements: Recruiting and/or customer service experience desired. A keen understanding of both people and pets. We are looking for individuals who share a strong passion for PRH’s mission and a deep understanding of the requirements of a successful volunteer.

Volunteer Recruiting Coordinator

Responsibilities: Recruit new volunteers into the program. Conducts volunteer orientation. Utilize Craigslist, volunteer job boards and social media to recruit volunteers for specific needs.

Requirements: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer oriented and prior experience interacting with animals.

Time Commitment: 10 hrs/month

Volunteer Recognition Coordinator

Responsibilities: Coordinate volunteer recognition events, such as happy hours and social events (contact local restaurants, check out the facilities, secure the space for a large group at no charge, check for suitable parking and menu items, check calendars for conflicting events, send out invitations, arrive early to coordinate set-up, provide name tags, circulate at event and make any necessary introductions, etc.). Identify other unique ways to recognize existing volunteers. Help with any special recognition projects.

Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, ability to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately.

Youth Program Manager

Responsibilities: Develop and manage youth programs that help young citizens grow into compassionate adults, responsible and better educated pet caregivers, and supporters of animal protection.

Responsibilities: Individuals with strong expertise to be a resource and build on the existing skills and knowledge of the board members and volunteer staff. Responsibilities: Work closely with Marketing and Communications managers to create design solutions that have high visual impact for web and/or print to include ads, invitations, posters, newsletters, website graphics, etc. Must have a creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. Will need to be able to turn around design requests quickly.

Communications Manager

Responsibilities: Manage communication channels to grow awareness of PRH, its mission, brand, programs and services. Oversee development of all PRH print communications including marketing collateral materials and electronic communications including PRH’s website and new media; manage relationships with associated vendors. Serve as a spokesperson and lead point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization. Ensure that PRH brand is consistent and accurately represents the organization’s mission and goals. Maintain organization's mailing lists and lead communication efforts out to various stakeholders of organization (general public, volunteer population, donors, etc.). Work closely with Marketing Manager and PRH leadership team.

Animal Marketing Evangelist

Responsibilities: Identify and enforce PRH marketing standards for our adoptable animals. May coordinate photo shoots, video shoots. Oversees bio writers, photographers, and the online posting team; ensures all adoptable animals have bios and photos online. Come up with fresh, innovative marketing campaigns for adoptable animals.

Requirements: Must be creative, tech savvy and have prior experience with rescue animals.

Time Commitment: 30-40 hrs/month

Pet Profile Writer

Responsibilities: Write colorful, accurate descriptions for our adoptable animals. The bios will be used on our website and social media platforms to introduce the animals to potential adopters. These profiles will need to be updated if the animal stays in PRH care for an extended period of time.

Requirements: Good writing skills including attention to grammar and sentence structure. Ability to write in a creative, positive style. Reliable computer and internet service.

Newsletter Editor

Responsibilities: Work closely with copywriters, graphic artists and photographers to create both the monthly Volunteer newsletter and Supporter/Past Adopter newsletter. Content will include information such as upcoming fundraising events and initiatives, spotlight on community partners, animal care and training tips, happy tails, volunteer opportunities, etc.

Requirements: Must be creative, tech savvy, and have experience in creating an online newsletter.

Social Media Manager

Responsibilities: Lead the social media team in building and implementing social media programs. Ensure appropriate messaging is executed online incorporating Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.

Requirements: Proficient in social media platforms. Experience building and coordinating a team of volunteers. PR or marketing experience a plus. Must maintain knowledge of our adoptable animals. Flexible schedule that allows for monitoring of all social media platforms throughout the day.

Social Media Team Member

Responsibilities: One team member for each of the following platforms: YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, And Instagram. Keep audience engaged by providing information about upcoming fundraising events and initiatives, intros of new pets available for adoption, happy tails, volunteer opportunities, animal care and training tips, etc. Works with Social Media manager to provide and disseminate engaging, fun, educational content to be shared thru social media outlets.

Responsibilities: Serve as administrator for PRH’s general and group Facebook pages.

  • monitor other groups’ pages for cross-posting material

  • Create and schedule postings that increase and retain Facebook followers (e.g., cute photo contests, posting questions which open up discussion and sharing of ideas, etc.)

Pet Photographer

Responsibilities: Take striking photos of our adoptable animals to show them at their best, cropping and editing as needed. PRH can provide backdrops and other equipment if needed.

Requirements: You must own a digital camera (an SLR camera is preferred) and have the ability to take nice, clear photos. Must have the technical ability to load and edit photos; reliable computer and internet service.

Event Photographer

Responsibilities: Document PRH events through pictures. Photographers will be photographing the crowd, events and activity, etc. It is a fun opportunity to help animals in need!

Videographer

Responsibilities: Create compelling videos of our adoptable animals, document PRH special events, and assist in creating marketing campaigns. Videos will be posted on PRH’s website and social media platforms to promote our organization and adoptable animals.

Requirements: We welcome both experienced and novice videographers. Must be able to work with the creative team to bring their vision to life. Must supply your own equipment.

Responsibilities: Edit raw video footage of PRH special events and our adoptable animals. Videos will be posted on PRH’s website and social media platforms to promote our organization and adoptable animals.

Flyer Distribution Manager

Responsibilities: Coordinate strategic posting of flyers at pet-friendly locations throughout the area. Need to also remove postings when animal has been adopted.

Etsy Shop Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Procure pictures and item descriptions of artist’s creations

  • Contact Etsy artists when an item sells and money clears for shipping. Confirm shipping to notify buyer

  • Solicit items from artists outside the Etsy arena to be sold in the Etsy shop. Ship items to buyers as they are purchased

  • Coordinate with Social Media Team to ensure artists and their available items are regularly promoted

  • Create Etsy Treasuries promoting artists and including other shops that donate to animal rescues/welfare

Responsibilities: In conjunction with other PRH team members, use creative promotional strategies that will strengthen and promote PRH’s mission, brand and services to the community. Department: Animal Operations

Shelter Animal Assessor

Responsibilities: Assist with the behavioral assessment of dogs/cats at the shelter and interact with shelter staff members and volunteers.

Requirements: Should have knowledge of animal behavior and be comfortable handling dogs/cats with which they have no history (preferred training/behaviorist credentials required). Will represent PRH and foster a strong working relationship with the shelter.

Time Commitment: Flexible schedule; up to 20 hrs/month

Shelter Liaison

Responsibilities: Assist with identifying animals currently at the shelter who are at risk. Provide additional information about their situation (both medical and behavioral), and work in conjunction with Shelter Assessor Team.

Requirements: Should be an active shelter volunteer in good standing and will abide by shelter requirements.

Time Commitment: Flexible schedule; up to 10 hrs/month

Home Visit Volunteer

Responsibilities: Visit potential adopters in their home environment to assess safety and suitability for prospective adoptable pets. Visits should be no more than 30 minutes and checklist will be provided.

Requirements: Reliable transportation, driver’s license and car insurance. Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Time Commitment: As needed, varies

Dog Training Specialist

Responsibilities: Work to assist with any dog behavior issues that arise. Maintain standard operating procedures for common behavior issues that occur with the rescue animals. Keep in close contact with the adoptive family to be sure recommended training is taking place and adjust program as needed until the animal is adopted.

Requirements: Must have prior behavior and training experience handling dogs.

Time Commitment: 15 hrs/month

Dog Handler

Responsibilities: Dog handlers are needed at our adoption events to manage leashed dogs, introduce dogs to potential adoptive families, walk dogs, and give lots of love and affection. This is the best opportunity for the dogs to be seen by the public and possibly find their forever home. You will be there to be the advocate for the dog. May also provide support in socialization of adopted dogs.

Requirements: Dog lover with prior experience handling dog with knowledge and ability to read dog body language. Must have a valid driver’s license to transport dogs when necessary. Will require orientation and training.

Time Commitment: 2-6 hours per month, mostly on weekends

 

 

Dog Training Resource Administrator

Responsibilities: Oversee administration of dog training offerings, including training classes and training/behavior partner referral list. Work with Adoption Program Manager to recommend appropriate trainers/behaviorists when the need arises. Suggest continuing dog behavior education opportunities for volunteers.

Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, and background in dog training.

Time Commitment: 15 hrs/month

Adopter Follow-Up Program

Responsibilities: Act as a liaison between PRH and adopters by providing continued post-adoption support. Contact adopters periodically to check on how the pet is doing in its new home.

  • 1 yr post adoption by mail

Provide any necessary support or resources and answer any questions.

Requirements: Strong organizational and follow through skills. Volunteers should fully understand the adoption process and enjoy working with people.

Animal Transport

Responsibilities: Transport volunteers use their personal vehicles to transport animals and/or supplies (i.e. rescue pick up, chauffeuring animals to/from medical or therapy visits, picking-up donations or helping with special event transport). Errands/pick up donations/drop off supplies. Travel is primarily in the San Jose area. Mileage reimbursement provided per PRH policy.

Requirements: Must have a reliable vehicle that is licensed and insured; the vehicle must have enough space for kenneled animals. Requires a valid driver’s license.

Time Commitment: Flexibility of schedule; 2-4 hrs/week.

Transport Coordination Manager

Responsibilities: Coordinate logistics of transport needs on behalf of the organization (i.e. rescue pick up, chauffeuring animals to/from medical or therapy visits, picking-up donations or helping with special event transport). Be the main point of contact to reach out to volunteers with transport needs.

Requirements: Ability to multitask, very organized, good at logistics, positive can do attitude!

Time Commitment: Flexibility of schedule; 2-4 hrs/week (varies)

Vet Services Manager

Responsibilities: Assist in establishing and maintaining vet partnerships to facilitate reduced costs for animal care. Partner with Finance to ensure that proper analysis of vet expenditures is completed. Work closely with the Vet Services Coordinator to ensure medical providers have the ability to respond to PRH needs.

Requirements: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of potential services and costs.

Time Commitment: 5-15 hrs/month

Vet Services Coordinator

Responsibilities: Provide support to Vet Services Manager.

Requirements: Volunteer must have access to email and phone and be able to respond during working hours. Requires knowledge of common canine and feline health issues.

Time Commitment: 5-15 hrs/month

Adoption Coordinator (Dog)

Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service and assist adopters/potential adopters with their needs. Respond to general inquiries about assistance with pets and respond to general phone/email inquiries coming into the organization; answer questions about PRH dogs, policies and general information. Assist in finalizing adoptions by uploading adoption agreements into database. Provide adopters with electronic copies of all medical records. Register microchips and provide this information with additional post adoption support resources. Update data fields in database.

Requirements: Superior customer service and responsiveness. Needs to have access to email throughout the day. Volunteers should have a solid working knowledge of PRH; its history, mission and procedures as well as solid knowledge of the current inventory.

Adoption Events Coordinator

Responsibilities: Coordinate with partners for adoption events Responsibilities also include posting adoption events on, PRH website, Facebook and notification to Community Outreach and Social Media Coordinators of events to publicize. Updates internal database (Rescuegroups.org) regarding attendance of pets at each event.

Requirements: Strong organizational and customer service skills.

Department: Fundraising/Development

Development Manager

Responsibility: Implement the annual and long-range strategy for securing gifts from a variety of sources, including foundations, corporations, individuals and events. You will play an integral role in forging new relationships, building a pipeline of new donors, individual and business sponsors and corporate partners to execute PRH’s overall fundraising strategy. Work with a team to research and write grants and oversee donor recognition.

Requirements: Prior experience in development is required. Excellent organization and communication skills.

Time Commitment: 20-30 hrs/month

Donor Relations Manager

Responsibilities: Primary liaison for PRH’s community of donors. Responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and expanding the relationships with donors; providing communication and service to donors, maintaining and managing donor information and engaging supporters. Also, responsible for maintaining donor database entries and issuing donor acknowledgements.

Requirements: Experience in stewarding donors with strong interpersonal communication skills and able to build and sustain relationships through individual contacts. Experience developing events; research and planning.

Time Commitment: 40 hrs/month

Vendor Relations Manager

Responsibilities: The point person for our service providers. Responsibilities include solidifying the relationship with the vendor and ensuring cross-promotion of our vendors with our customers.

Requirements: Experience in customer service and vendor relationships with strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build and sustain relationships through individual contacts; research and planning.

Time Commitment: 20 hrs/month

Volunteer Manager

Purpose: To manage all PRH Volunteers towards increasing effectiveness and productivity of intakes, rehabilitation, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: The position will oversee and implement all aspects of the volunteer program including recruitment, screening, placement, retention, appreciation, evaluation and development. Respond to all volunteer inquiries, have a general idea of the volunteer needs for the organization.

Location: Ranch Facility & Remote

Supervision: Managing Director

Length of Appointment: One Year

Time Commitment: Must be flexible; 20+ hrs/week.

Qualifications: In this critical position, the volunteer should have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and build rapport with people. Experience managing people and/or volunteers strongly preferred solid working knowledge of Pets Return Home.

Volunteer Recruiter

Responsibilities: Bring new volunteers into the program by determining innovative recruiting. Retain reliable committed volunteers. Process inquiries and screen applicants.

Requirements: Recruiting and/or customer service experience desired. A keen understanding of both people and pets. We are looking for individuals who share a strong passion for PRH’s mission and a deep understanding of the requirements of a successful volunteer.

Volunteer Recruiting Coordinator

Responsibilities: Recruit new volunteers into the program. Conducts volunteer orientation. Utilize Craigslist, volunteer job boards and social media to recruit volunteers for specific needs.

Requirements: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer oriented and prior experience interacting with animals.

Time Commitment: 10 hrs/month

Volunteer Recognition Coordinator

Responsibilities: Coordinate volunteer recognition events, such as happy hours and social events (contact local restaurants, check out the facilities, secure the space for a large group at no charge, check for suitable parking and menu items, check calendars for conflicting events, send out invitations, arrive early to coordinate set-up, provide name tags, circulate at event and make any necessary introductions, etc.). Identify other unique ways to recognize existing volunteers. Help with any special recognition projects.

Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, ability to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately.

Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise the volunteers in planning adoption, fundraising and special events such as booths at local festivals and community events to promote PRH's message and community participation.

Youth Program Manager

Responsibilities: Develop and manage youth programs that help young citizens grow into compassionate adults, responsible and better educated pet caregivers, and supporters of animal protection.

Requirements: Embody PRH values and ethics; basic communication skills and an enthusiasm for our purpose; creative thinking and a positive outlook and experience working with youth programs.

Time Commitment: 10-15 hrs/month

Mentor

Responsibilities: Individuals with strong expertise to be a resource and build on the existing skills and knowledge of the board members and volunteer staff. Provide consultation and guidance in area of expertise, as needed on a project basis. Responsibility: Work across the organization to identify and execute marketing campaigns for the organization, events, programs and adoptable animals. Graphic Designer

Responsibilities: Work closely with Marketing and Communications managers to create design solutions that have high visual impact for web and/or print to include ads, invitations, posters, newsletters, website graphics, etc. Must have a creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. Will need to be able to turn around design requests quickly.

Communications Manager

Responsibilities: Manage communication channels to grow awareness of PRH, its mission, brand, programs and services. Oversee development of all PRH print communications including marketing collateral materials and electronic communications including PRH’s website and new media; manage relationships with associated vendors. Serve as a spokesperson and lead point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization. Ensure that PRH brand is consistent and accurately represents the organization’s mission and goals. Maintain organization's mailing lists and lead communication efforts out to various stakeholders of organization (general public, volunteer population, donors, etc.). Work closely with Marketing Manager and PRH leadership team.

Requirements: Prior experience in marketing and communications. Must be creative, have excellent organizational and communication skills; experience with design software and computer programs (Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, social media platforms, etc). Able to manage a volunteer team with a passion for PRH mission.

Animal Marketing Evangelist

Responsibilities: Identify and enforce PRH marketing standards for our adoptable animals. May coordinate photo shoots, video shoots. Oversees bio writers, photographers, and the online posting team; ensures all adoptable animals have bios and photos online. Come up with fresh, innovative marketing campaigns for adoptable animals.

Requirements: Must be creative, tech savvy and have prior experience with rescue animals.

Time Commitment: 30-40 hrs/month

Pet Profile Writer

Responsibilities: Write colorful, accurate descriptions for our adoptable animals. The bios will be used on our website and social media platforms to introduce the animals to potential adopters. These profiles will need to be updated if the animal stays in PRH care for an extended period of time.

Requirements: Good writing skills including attention to grammar and sentence structure. Ability to write in a creative, positive style. Reliable computer and internet service.

Newsletter Editor

Responsibilities: Work closely with copywriters, graphic artists and photographers to create both the monthly Volunteer newsletter and Supporter/Past Adopter newsletter. Content will include information such as upcoming fundraising events and initiatives, spotlight on community partners, animal care and training tips, happy tails, volunteer opportunities, etc.

Requirements: Must be creative, tech savvy, and have experience in creating an online newsletter.

Social Media Manager

Responsibilities: Lead the social media team in building and implementing social media programs. Ensure appropriate messaging is executed online incorporating Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.

Requirements: Proficient in social media platforms. Experience building and coordinating a team of volunteers. PR or marketing experience a plus. Must maintain knowledge of our adoptable animals. Flexible schedule that allows for monitoring of all social media platforms throughout the day.

Social Media Team Member

Responsibilities: One team member for each of the following platforms: YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, And Instagram. Keep audience engaged by providing information about upcoming fundraising events and initiatives, intros of new pets available for adoption, happy tails, volunteer opportunities, animal care and training tips, etc. Works with Social Media manager to provide and disseminate engaging, fun, educational content to be shared thru social media outlets.

Requirements: Proficient in social media platforms.

Facebook Administrator

Responsibilities: Serve as administrator for PRH’s general and group Facebook pages.

  • monitor other groups’ pages for cross-posting material

  • monitor both pages throughout the day to ensure posts follow basic protocols

  • monitor and respond to posts, comments and private messages from the public and adoptive families

  • Create and schedule postings that increase and retain Facebook followers (e.g., cute photo contests, posting questions which open up discussion and sharing of ideas, etc.)

  • Disseminate important information to our community including volunteer opportunities, training tips, fundraising events, volunteer social events, etc

  • Work with creative team to keep Facebook cover photo engaging

  • Maintain and engage with community partners connected thru Facebook

Requirements: Great people and communication skills, self-starter, animal rescue volunteer background a plus.

Responsibilities: Work closely with the Management team and Marketing & Communications Manager to promote the organization and our adoptable animals to the public. Identify and maintain media contact list, draft press releases, and work with creative team on promoting specific events, and campaigns.

Pet Photographer

Responsibilities: Take striking photos of our adoptable animals to show them at their best, cropping and editing as needed. The animals' photos will be posted on PRH’s website and social media to promote our animals for adoption. Photos may be taken in a studio, outdoors or at adoption events. PRH can provide backdrops and other equipment if needed.

Requirements: You must own a digital camera (an SLR camera is preferred) and have the ability to take nice, clear photos. Must have the technical ability to load and edit photos; reliable computer and internet service.

Time Commitment: 5-6 hrs/month

Event Photographer

Responsibilities: Document PRH events through pictures. Photographers will be photographing the crowd, events and activity, etc. It is a fun opportunity to help animals in need!

Requirements: You must own a digital camera (an SLR camera is preferred) and have the ability to take nice, clear photos. Must have the technical ability to load and edit photos; reliable computer and internet service.

Time Commitment: 5-6 hrs/month

Videographer

Responsibilities: Create compelling videos of our adoptable animals, document PRH special events, and assist in creating marketing campaigns. Videos will be posted on PRH’s website and social media platforms to promote our organization and adoptable animals.

Requirements: We welcome both experienced and novice videographers. Must be able to work with the creative team to bring their vision to life. Must supply your own equipment.

Time Commitment: No time commitment is necessary – our video marketing team will work around your schedule.

 

 

Video Editor

Responsibilities: Edit raw video footage of PRH special events and our adoptable animals. Videos will be posted on PRH’s website and social media platforms to promote our organization and adoptable animals.

Requirements: Experience with video editing software. Ability to input music, dialogue, graphics and effects as needed. Must be able to work with the creative team to bring their vision to life. Must supply your own equipment.

Flyer Distribution Manager

Responsibilities: Coordinate strategic posting of flyers at pet-friendly locations throughout the area. Need to also remove postings when animal has been adopted.

Etsy Shop Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Procure pictures and item descriptions of artist’s creations

  • Contact Etsy artists when an item sells and money clears for shipping. Confirm shipping to notify buyer

  • Solicit items from artists outside the Etsy arena to be sold in the Etsy shop. Ship items to buyers as they are purchased

  • Coordinate with Social Media Team to ensure artists and their available items are regularly promoted

  • Create Etsy Treasuries promoting artists and including other shops that donate to animal rescues/welfare

  • Maintain relationship with SF Etsy Team to promote our shop/cause and encourage more artists to contribute

Mission Ambassador/Face of PRH

Responsibilities: In conjunction with other PRH team members, use creative promotional strategies that will strengthen and promote PRH’s mission, brand and services to the community. Be a positive agent to create awareness and tell the world about why they should care about our mission as much as we do! Your efforts will help raise PRH profile and help our fundraising bottom line. Represent PRH at public speaking engagements such as fundraisers and events. Meet with the media as needed.

Communications Specialist

Responsibilities: Writing, editing and coordinating the content of PRH internal/external newsletters, create and distribute newsletters in Mailchimp, maintain mailing lists, manage communication calendar.

Requirements: Demonstrated experience managing newsletters (experience with Mailchimp a must); a strong sense of professionalism and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication; Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of cross functional teams.

Collateral Coordinator

Responsibilities: Main point of contact for ordering PRH collateral for different departments and groups including Volunteer T-shirts, business cards, etc.; maintaining inventory of collateral materials; Coordinate with design team and distribute T-shirt for general public purchase; track inventory and distribution.

PR Team Member

Responsibilities: Works directly with the PR Manager and Communications; providing support, planning, research local press outlets and tactical execution of public relations strategy.

Responsibilities: Oversees all finance functions of the organization. Responsible for managing investment accounts plus reviewing and submitting the annual budget.
