Printing Paws Newsletter

Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter!

My name is Tami George, and I’m a volunteer with Pets Return Home. I’ve had rescue dogs all my life, and recently my husband, Jeff, and I adopted a fabulous German Shepherd mix from Pets Return Home.  We met “Mollie” while volunteering at a PRH adoption event, spent time with her over multiple events and finally made the decision to bring her home to join our family.

As a lifetime dog lover/owner, I felt compelled to help in some way, and Pets Return Home was a natural fit.

Events

Pets Return Home will be the following locations this spring with our adoptable dogs:

March    Petsense, Cottonwood

Fundraising

Pets Return Home is currently formulating plans for 2023 fundraising and we can use your help –donations are crucial for our survival, and we appreciate all our donors. Our last event, hosted at Vino di Sedona, was a huge success, thanks to donations for our silent auction and all those who attended the wine tasting.  Special thanks to Rebecca at Vino di Sedona for helping to organize this event and supplying the wine and a gift basket for the auction.  Other donors included:  Dr. David Herald, Gentle Dentistry; Susan McAlpine, Jewelry Creations; Greenway Saddlery; Kris Garvey; Equus Dressage; Page Springs Cellars; Amanda Valentine, Artisan Co-Op.

Scottsdale boutique, Pretty Please, focuses on offering a monthly charity promotion, and in January, they made it Pets Return Home!  The boutique set up a donation station and offered customers a discount on their purchases if they made a donation. Thank you to everyone who donated dog food, treats, collars, toys and grooming supplies!

We hope to plan several local events, including a silent auction/wine tasting event later this spring, and we encourage local businesses and supporters to “think outside the box” on items for donation.  Do you have a product or service or item or value to donate for the auction?  These could include gift certificates, gift baskets, tickets to a local event, spa services, etc.  Please contact Tami at: jeta@northlink.com or 602-509-7294 with suggestions or more information.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the lifeblood of any non profit organization, but they are especially important to animal shelters, who rely heavily on volunteers for the many day to day requirements.  Pets Return Home is somewhat unique in that not only is it a non-kill, sanctuary shelter, but PRH also allows the “dogs to be dogs,” promoting socialization among the dogs and allowing them to be free on the seven acre property in Clarkdale, AZ.

Adoption News

Unfortunately, adoptions of large dogs have slowed during the last few months, not just in Arizona, but in shelters throughout the country -another side-effect of the pandemic. These friendly pups have been at the Shelter for months, waiting to find their “forever” homes. If you have room in your heart and home for one of these deserving dogs, you can find out more information about them, and the rest of our adoptable dogs on petsreturnhome.org

Can’t adopt?  Consider Fostering. Pets Return Home has foster opportunities as well.

Or, how about sponsoring one of our Sanctuary dogs?  For only $25/month, you can ensure these special dogs can live out their lives at our shelter.
