About the Event
Hike the Dogs 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
We leave the ranch at 7:00 AM and hike 15 to 25 dogs off-leash on the Verde River for 5 hours. It’s about a 2.5-mile hike. Bring water, lunch, sunscreen, wear water shoes that are good for hiking too. Two sets of shoes works – but is awkward. Bring a backpack to carry your stuff. The hike is mostly flat. You will be in the water a great deal of the day. Hiking Sticks are a great tool to bring for balancing in the river. You should bring something to keep your phone dry. You can bring an extra set of clothes and leave them in your car. There may be times when we use the RV or Bus and go to a different part of the river to hike. On colder days we can take the ground trails and leave later.
